Build! A Knight’s Castle

Imagine my delight when I opened my post to find a copy of this wonderful papercraft book Build! A Knight’s Castle.  Very informative though easy to read, with pop out pieces to create your very own Knight’s Castle.  We think this would make a delightful Christmas present for your children.  My son, William, is 6yr old and needed (or more likely wanted) help from us to build his castle but at the same time we spent hours discussing the content.  Read on to find out more…

Build! A Knight's Castle

Think like an archaeologist with this fun papercraft title!

Become an archaeological detective and embark on a quest that will lead you into the medieval realm. Keep your eyes peeled as you carefully sift through the evidence; unearth artifacts and features, and explore historical records for clues about the past. Then use your newfound knowledge to rebuild a magnificent medieval siege castle of your own.

In the first section, you’ll begin to think like an archaeologist, discovering how they use and interpret clues from the past. Read about the tumultuous world of medieval knights and uncover the reality of medieval life. Find out about weapons and warfare, and learn about battle tactics.

The second section contains visual and textual clues from the site of a medieval siege. Examine images and notes from an archaeological dig and learn more about the castle and the weapons that lay siege to it.

When you reach the final section of the book, you’ll be ready to pop out the paper pieces and make a reconstruction of the besieged castle, complete with attacking and defending forces. Use all the knowledge you have gained to piece it together!
