Christmas at Gulliver’s, it’s what dreams are made of. Our very own “Forever Elves” Jourden and Elfy, named by our 7yr old son, broke the news to William and his friend Eve that they had a fantastic day ahead of them on Sunday, 4 December.

What a fantastic day we had. We picked up William’s friend, Eve and set off on our journey to Gulliver’s Theme Park in Warrington. Two very excited children looking forward to seeing Father Christmas.

We were booked to see Santa at 12.45pm so we had 2 hours to enjoy the rest of the theme park plus the rest of the afternoon until close. The Santa Express takes you on a magical journey through Gulliver’s until you reach your destination “Santa’s Grotto” where you are greeted with beautiful, illuminated decorations.

As you depart the Santa Express, the journey continues through an enchanted display of illuminated, animated decorations and you can hear the mounting excitement from all around. I honestly couldn’t tell you how long we queued because we were entertained with singing and a life-sized “Forever Elf” singing and dancing, before we knew it, it was our turn to see Santa.

There are 3 maybe 4 Santas available and there is absolutely no hurry, you get your moment and it is all very personal to you. The camera wasn’t working in our Santa room, I believe the elves had broken it, so we were allowed to take our own photograph and the video (shown above).

William and Eve enjoyed their time with Santa, then they were invited into Santa’s Shop to choose a gift each.

Gulliver’s Warrington was very well organised, the maximum queuing time for any ride was 20mins for the roller coaster, the rest of the rides had little or no waiting time.

There are plenty of “posing pic boards” around Gulliver’s to delight your children, and the odd “Grumpy Elf” (Simon), face painting, gift shops, places to eat, etc. NOTE: there is a “book ahead” carvery, not sure how to book but you have to book in before you arrive and it looked yummy. We settled for a sausage roll in Costa and a hot dog by the heaters before heading home but we believe there was a Diner at the other side of Gulliver’s which was also serving carvery and other hot food.

Would we go back to Gulliver’s?

Yes, we had a fab day, the kids loved it, no stressing or rushing.

We took quite a few pictures and videos which you can find on our Twitter : Entertain The Kids Twitter

What did we like most at Gulliver’s?

Definitely the visit to see Santa, this visit was like in the fairy tales. Everybody around seemed to be happy, a couple of “Grumpy Elves” manning the rides but the majority were quite chipper but very, VERY cold.

What would we change about our visit?

The time of the day we visited Father Christmas. We were booked in at 12.45pm, we could see lots of “light up” decorations throughout Gulliver’s but they weren’t lit. We assume they would be lit later in the day and make the whole experience more magical, however, this didn’t spoil our visit.

We were given a map on arrival, when we took a moment later in the day to have a proper look at it, we realised there were activities on the back for the children to find 3 elves with a code so they could enter a competition. It would’ve been nice if they’d made a fuss of the children on arrival and told them what to look out for. Again, this didn’t spoil our visit, we did offer to take the children round to find them but they weren’t really that bothered, they had had a good day, seen Santa, been on rides, Eve had her face painted and they were utterly worn out.
