Stars come out for Age UK’s Love Christmas concert

Age UK’s glittering Christmas Carol concert, Love Christmas, will be taking place at Cadogan Hall, London, on Thursday 8th December.

Hosted by TV’s Penny Smith, and with a star studded cast of celebrities, the yuletide celebrations will include seasonal readings from Dame Barbara Windsor DBE, Amanda Redman MBE, Charles Dance OBE and Miriam Margolyes OBE, along with musical performances from Heather Small, the voice of M People, soprano Laura Wright, the ACM Gospel Choir and the London Gay Men’s Chorus, and a selection of heart-warming traditional Christmas carols.

Money raised at Love Christmas will help Age UK make a crucial difference to the lives of older people. According to research by Age UK over a million people in the UK say they are lonely1. Age UK wants to combat this by providing companionship, advice and support for older people facing later life alone.

The event will take place on Thursday 8th December at 7pm at Cadogan Hall, 5 Sloane Terrace, Belgravia, London SW1X 9DQ. Tickets are on sale now and prices start from £15 each with discounted tickets available for concession (children under 16 people aged 60 and over).

To book tickets, visit Age UK Love Christmas

Innocent’s biggest ever Big Knit for Age UK: December

2017’s Big Knit is set to be the biggest event yet, encouraging budding knitters to take part and help smash the target of two million miniature woolly hats. The colourful creations will adorn innocent smoothie bottles, and for each be-hatted smoothie sold, innocent will donate 25p to Age UK. We need knitters to get as many hats as possible sent in by January 31st, however this time, the smoothie bottles don’t go on sale until October 2017 so there’s even more time for knitters to keep sending hats in throughout the summer to help reach the bumper target.

Age UK

We work with our national partners, Age Scotland, Age Cymru and Age NI and our local Age UK partners in England (together the Age UK Family). We also work internationally for people in later life as a member of the DEC and with our sister charity Help Age International.

Age UK believes that everyone should have the opportunity to make the most of later life, whatever their circumstances.  We provide free information, advice and support to over six million people; commercial products and services to over one million customers; and research and campaign on the issues that matter to people in later life. Our work focuses on five key areas: money matters, health and well being, home and care, work and training and leisure and lifestyle.

Age UK is a charitable company limited by guarantee and registered in England (registered charity number 1128267 and company number 6825798). Age Concern England and Help the Aged (both registered charities), and their trading and other associated companies merged on the 1st April 2009. Together they have formed the Age UK Group (“we”).  Charitable services are offered through Age UK and commercial products are offered by the Charity’s trading companies, which donate their net profits to Age UK (the Charity).
