We’re starting our search for the top young songwriters across the UK & Ireland, with a new category for international young songwriters.  2017 star judges include Tom Odell, Imogen Heap, Conor Maynard, Rumer, Eg White, Fraser T Smith, Lyn Goddard, Nigel Elderton and Jamie Theakston!

Information for 8-18 year olds


Song Academy is calling Young Songwriters aged 8-18

Aged 8-18? Written your own original song? Want to write your first song? Want your songs to be listened to by key players in the music industry, including Tom Odell, Imogen Heap, Conor Maynard, Rumer, Eg White, Fraser T Smith, Lyn Goddard, Nigel Elderton and Jamie Theakston!

You can enter up to 5 individual songs and 5 group songs.  Closing date is 2nd April 2017. All lyrics and music must be the entrant’s own original work. Professional recordings are not required as songs will be judged on their originality, lyrics, melody, composition and hit-making potential. Written song feedback from an industry expert is available before entering. Get ready and enter at Song Academy SAYS17. Submit a short entry form and upload your song in mp3 format directly on the form or via the Song Academy Soundcloud account– it’s super easy and quick!  Entry is £5 per song to cover administration costs.

Winners will record their winning song at a top recording studio in London, have a professional music video and photos, win a Focusrite Scarlett2i2 Studio, Farida Guitar & 4 tickets to Beautiful – The Carole King Musical in London and perform at our Young Songwriter 2017 live showcase in London and in the Voice In A Million Show at Wembley Arena!
