Rail fares are on the up again! Higher Rail fares shouldn’t be in force until Jan 2017, but Train Operators will be loading these fares into their systems from Dec 2nd.
This rise is anticipated to be much higher than usual as the government guides, track the Retail Price Index and the weakness of the pound since the post Brexit vote. These new prices can be beaten if savvy travellers book now. Big savings can also be had if they book through online independents like Train Offers and Train Split as they can offer ‘split-ticket’ savings on 71% of journeys which provide an average additional savings of £26.00 compared to any other train booking site.
Booking with a Railcard like a Student, Senior or Family will save big for those passengers who expect to spend more than £100 on fares.
The early December 2nd deadline is soon, so if you know your dates of travel, book now and gift yourself an early saving present.
