- A live and interactive family ‘scare maze’ will feature at this year’s Scarefest
- Families invited to join monster hunting vlogger on fact finding mission
Alton Towers Resort has unveiled its first ever live scare maze for families to enjoy this Halloween.
Renowned for its award-winning adult scare mazes, which pop up throughout October for Scarefest, the Staffordshire-based theme park will this year also have an attraction dedicated to families.
‘House of Monsters’, which is recommended for those over 8 years of age, will see families invited to join a vlogger who describes himself as a modern day ‘monster hunter.’ His investigations have led him to believe that fictitious monsters actually exist and are living in a haunted house. Yet, he hasn’t the nerves to go alone and has asked his online followers to join him on a daring mission into the supposedly abandoned property.
On the mission, guests will experience some family friendly encounters and interact with various characters during their quest to discover the truth about monsters.
Gill Riley, Marketing Director for Alton Towers Resort, said: “We are incredibly excited to be launching House of Monsters for families to enjoy as part of Scarefest this year.
“It offers something completely new and unique to guests, in a storyline that young people can really relate to.
“The attraction will be a great addition to our other Halloween themed activities aimed at young people, including Skelvin’s Spooky Storytime, Phil & Franklyn’s Ghoul School, and Patch’s Trick-Or-Treat Party.”
During Scarefest, Alton Towers Resort is also open until 9pm giving guests the unique chance to experience all the amazing rides and attractions in the dark.
Scarefest will take place at the Resort on 8th and 9th October, 15 and 16th October, and 21st to 31st October. Family tickets start at £30.60pp. Hotel packages start from just £42.50 per person, based on 4 sharing a room.
