This morning on Entertain The Kids, we are pleased to offer our review of the new movie: The Adventurer: The Curse of Midas Box.

The movie is a family fun fantasy adventure filled with powerful evil, intrigue and (you guessed it!) adventure. Our story is set in 1885 in London, told with a distinctive steam-punk style; The life of Mariah Mundi – the seventeen-year-old son of a couple who deal in ancient artefacts – is turned upside down with the kidnapping of his younger brother and disappearance of his parents.

Our young adventurer must team up with the enigmatic Will Charity (played by Michael Sheen) and follow a trail of clues that leads to the mysterious and majestic Prince Regent Hotel – a huge steam-powered hotel set on a small island at the furthest reaches of the Empire. Here, our adventurer discovers a hidden world of child-stealing monsters, deadly secrets and a long-lost artefact that grants limitless wealth – the Midas Box.

The atmospheric story takes a few twists and turns, with some beautiful effect and while some critics may argue that some plot threads don’t seem to contribute to the overall story arc, we felt this was a fantastic family film where the suspension of disbelief is needed!

We enjoyed it and we hope you do too!
