A stretchy doll is set to become one of this year’s must have Christmas toys – despite it looking like DONALD TRUMP.
Stretch Armstrong, the iconic American body-builder hero, will be a familiar sight in many British homes this Christmas, just like the incoming US President.
The popular action figure can survive being stretched up to four times his original size and being tied up in knots, a feeling Trump has become accustomed to during his gritty campaign to become the 45th President.
The £19.99 doll sports a striking resemblance to the new President, as they both have an immovable blond hairdo, thick eyebrows and a square jaw.
Fortunately Trump has not been spotted in Stretch’s iconic black speedos, which he has worn since he was launched in 1977.
A spokesperson for the character said: “He looks very ‘Trumpesque’ which is particularly relevant with all that is going on in America today.
“Parents, especially dads, are really amazed by it as well as the kids.
“We have had lots of interest in our Facebook and Twitter pages from people remembering Stretch from their youth and Keith Lemon even tweeted us.
“Stretch is very retro, we’ve kept the original look and styling so that he doesn’t look to cartoony.
“With his classic head sculpt and square jaw, his blond locks and his ubiquitous bodybuilding trunks, Stretch is once again a strong choice for Christmas.”
Stretch Armstrong was one of many toys featured in the Toy Retailers Association’s most hotly anticipated toys for Christmas 2016 at their ‘DreamToys’ event in central London.
