When “Art Play by Marion Deuchars” landed on my desk last week, I was truly excited. A4 in size with a definitely “arty feel” exploring colours, shapes, patterns, etc which will encourage our children to explore all avenues of art. Just having a quick flick through I can see dot-to-dots, pencil techniques, blank pages, scribble colouring, line drawing, etc.
What I like most about this book is it all has the appearance of “hand drawn” rather than computer printed, no exact lines which will enable the artist to relax and express themselves instead of criticising themselves for not being perfect.
The perfect Christmas present for the budding artist.
